Violist and conductor Christoph Vandory, winner of the 2015 Bavarian Art Promotion Award, is one of the most exciting and versatile young musicians in Germany.

A founding member of the Goldmund Quartet, he regularly performs in renowned concert halls such as the Philharmonie de Paris, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, the Konzerthaus Berlin, and the Vienna Konzerthaus.
He has had the pleasure to perform with chamber music partners such as Jörg Widmann, Maria Dueñas, Sabine Meyer, and Fazil Say.

In 2017, Christoph decided to pursue his deep fascination with orchestral music
and, in addition to his international career as a violist, began studying conducting in Munich with Marcus Bosch and Georg Fritzsch.  In addition, he received

important inspiration from musical greats such as Parvo Järvi, Jorma Panula, Julia
Fischer, Jörg Widmann, and Herbert Blomstedt.

Christoph has already conducted numerous orchestras, including the Stuttgart Philharmonic, the Orquestra de les Alles Baleares, and the Munich Symphony Orchestra.

In addition to numerous awards at international competitions, Christoph has the
honor of playing an extremely rare viola, the "Paganini-Mendelssohn" by
Antonio Stradivari, built in 1731; on loan from the Nippon Music Foundation.

Currently he teaches viola at the University of Music and Dance in Munich.
